World & Rules
How big the world is, where you can build, what happens when you die, and the rules that keep the war fair.
The map
The main world is the whole planet at 1:1000 scale, with real coastlines, mountains, rivers and biomes. One block is one kilometre. Find any country on the live map, which also shows every town and siege.
The world border sits just inside the map's edge. The map wraps nowhere: sailing west from the Americas stops at the border.
Worlds
| World | Size | Claimable | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spawn | 500 × 500 | No | Where you log in. No PvP, no damage, no hunger, no building. |
| Earth | 36,544 × 18,112 | Yes | The game world. Reach it with /rtp. |
| Nether | 2,000 × 1,000 | No | Deliberately small. A portal built far from the centre of Earth may not find a matching spot inside the Nether border. |
| The End | 600 × 600 | No | The main island and the dragon only. No outer islands, End cities or elytra. |
| PvP arena | Event map | No | Used for events. Armour and weapons don't lose durability here. |
Wilderness
- Any land not claimed by a town is wilderness. Anyone can build, mine and use things there.
- Creeper, TNT, wither and other mob explosions in the wilderness repair themselves after about 20 seconds. Bed and respawn-anchor explosions do too.
- Nothing in the wilderness is protected. If you want to keep it, claim it. See Towns & Nations.
- Endermen can't pick up blocks and players can't trample crops, anywhere.
Combat
Hitting a player, or being hit, puts you in combat for 60 seconds. A bar shows the timer, and the timer resets every time you deal or take damage.
While tagged you can't
- Use
/spawn,/home,/sethome,/t spawn,/msgor other teleports - Go through portals or teleport (ender pearls still work)
- Place or break blocks
- Fly, or glide with an elytra
- Drop items, or keep an inventory open
- Drink Strength or Invisibility potions
- Walk into land where PvP is off: you'll be pushed back, and a red glass wall marks the edge
Protections
- Newcomer shield: 30 seconds of PvP protection after joining. Attacking ends it early.
- Loot protection: items from a player's death are reserved for their killer for 30 seconds.
- The tag ends early when your attacker dies.
Death
| You lose | Details |
|---|---|
| Your items and XP | Dropped where you died. There's no keep-inventory, siege zones included. |
| 20% of your balance | Only when another player kills you. It drops as five cash notes anyone can pick up. |
| $1 | A small death fee on every death. |
| Your thirst | Reset to full on respawn, which is the good news. |
You respawn at your bed if you have one, otherwise at Spawn.
Thirst
A thirst bar sits beside your health. It starts at 100% and drops about 1% a minute.
| Source | Thirst | Side effects |
|---|---|---|
| Clean water (water bottles) | +40 | None |
| Dirty water (straight from a river, lake or sea) | +15 | 30% chance of Hunger and Poison |
| Running dry | — | Mining Fatigue and Slowness, then half a heart of damage every 5 seconds |
Thirst only drains in Survival mode.
Fair play
No cheating
Hacked clients, fly, speed, reach and other cheats are banned. Staff watch for cheating and deal with reports by hand, so report suspected cheaters on Discord.
Accounts
- Up to 3 accounts per IP address.
- VPN and proxy connections may be blocked.
- Ores are hidden from X-ray clients and texture packs.
- Your password is your account. Never share it, and staff will never ask for it.
Rules
War, raiding, sieges and betrayal are part of the game. Everything below isn't.
- Be respectful. Rivalry stays in-character. No slurs, harassment or threats in chat or on Discord.
- Be ethical. No cheats, hacked clients, X-ray, duplication glitches or exploits. Report bugs to staff instead of using them.
- Use common sense. If you have to ask whether something is allowed, ask staff first.
